Happy New Year! It’s that time of year to start planning a holiday and here are some suggestions of the best places to go in 2015.
1. Tunisia
As an all year round destination Tunisia is popular and is also a cheap place to take a vacation. From sandy beaches to ancient Roman sites you can combine a mixture of culture and relaxation in Tunisia.
2. Shanghai
China’s major coastal city is a top destination in 2015. Be adventurous with the street food and enjoy city life in this bustling metropolis. River trips are memorable here as is exploring the historic Bund.

One of the top destinations in Asia, Bali is renowned for its beaches and beautiful landscapes. You’ll also find some amazing spas here which are perfect for a relaxing break.
4. Portugal

For a taste of paradise the island of Samoa is a dream destination in the Pacific. Explore markets and taste the delicious street food in Apia. The beaches are renowned and are perfect for a relaxing holiday.
8. Uruguay
Uruguay is cheaper than many other South American countries and is underrated. It has some lovely beaches and a chilled out capital in Montevideo. You can also visit the meat factory museum in Fray Bentos or ride out with gauchos on the Pampas.

Taiwan is often overlooked in favour of other Asian countries but there’s a lot to see on this island. There’s Taipei to explore which is cheaper than Hong Kong. Taiwan also has beautiful national parks and forests, and rail passes are good value here.
10. Burkina Faso
If an exotic holiday to West Africa appeals then take a look at Burkina Faso. This little known country has some excellent places to see wildlife and opportunities to meet the locals. There’s the desert region of the Sahel and some amazing rock formations, not to mention a warm welcome to the country.
